Oh God, this was on TV years ago and my family still talk about it! He’s a wee penguin who lives in Japan; he was rescued by a Japanese fisherman, and ended up going home to live with the family. They built him a little refrigerator room to live in, and he became the family pet. Then one day he went shopping with them, and got very excited about the fish shop (understandably!) and now he goes off on his own to pick up fish from the fish shop for the family, which he brings back in his little penguin backpack, having nommed his own fish at the fish shop. IT IS THE BEST THING EVER.

The rain in the northeast yesterday led to a fantastic string of events. My plane from Tampa to Newark was delayed from an hour to eventually being canceled along with all flights to the northeast.
I sprinted to the ticketing counter to hear that the only direct flight was Saturday morning. I thought to myself, “this can’t be happening on memorial day weekend!”
Anyway, with some quick thinking, a overnight hotel room, a plane ticket to Philadelphia, a cab ride to 30th street station, an Amtrak to Newark Penn Station, and a limo service, I successfully arrived home Friday evening.
Suck it mother nature and United Airlines. You guys are on my poop list.
New Xbox will get ‘more powerful with time’.
Microsoft have explained how the Xbox One will use streaming technology to allow the console to deliver better graphics by leveraging servers in the cloud.
The company says it has 300,000 cloud connected servers available for the One, which will be able to be used to render background objects and landscapes, streaming them to the user and allowing the consoles computation power to be used solely for rendering better game characters. That number compares to only 15,000 servers for the Xbox 360.
“There are a growing number of transistors in the cloud that you can move the loads onto,” said the company’s director of development Boyd Multerer.
“So over time, your box gets more powerful. We move loads into the cloud to free up resources on the box.”
Interesting article about how gaming is moving to the cloud even for consoles. An Xbox One will be more powerful as it ages.
